Guaranteed discounts on greenfee's
Golfhub.ie, Ireland's online golf community and tee time distribution platform, has come up with a new and innovative scheme to entice golfers to get out there and play. Ireland is undoubtedly on top of the game with regards to the number, diversity, history and quality of courses. The recession has put pressure on golf participation but there are still golfers out there playing their favourite game but they are all looking for value.
Golfhub will be handing out 30,000 specially designed scratch cards starting at the Ladies Irish Open end of June at Portmarnock Hotel & Golf Links. Attending golfers can scratch and win prizes. Reveal three tees and you win a free round of golf, three golf balls will see you and 3 friends tee it up and three beds will offer you an the missus an overnight stay B&B and round of golf. This scheme will continue with scratch cards being sent out to all clubs that host an International Pairs Competition and offered at other various events around the country.
Guaranteed discount
Golfhub gives you €1 discount for every hole you play!
On top of this, each card will have a code that will allow golfers to receive a guaranteed €18 discount on their next online tee time booking via Golfhub.ie. On the back of the card, you can also enter a competition where you can win some more fabulous prizes like golfing trips in Ireland and abroad.
Jo Maes, thriving force behind Golfhub: "This innovative campaign combines the marketing powers of the Internet with a year long off-line campaign. Our business is to provide golf courses with the best marketing tools the Internet has to offer when golfers from anywhere in the world and at anytime can book a round of golf or plan their next golf holiday online. Connecting to Golfhub and offering tee time bookings online allows clubs to capture vital marketing information about their clients and use it quickly and efficiently in future campaigns. Most of the golf clubs that are connected to us are at the fore of golf marketing in Ireland anyway and we had no difficulty enrolling them in this campaign. Giving out 30,000 scratch cards comes at a cost but we firmly believe the campaign will drive bookings to our golf courses and will generate significant revenue, all for the benefit of golf in this country."
Going abroad
The system will start at the Ladies Irish Open where Golfhub will have a stand. During the event, we will also collect spare coins for charity in exchange for a scratchcard. All this spare change will be donated to Barnardos for all the work they do with underprivileged children. Courses that have embraced the initiative are for example Carton House, Portmarnock Links, Moyvalley Golf Club, New Forest, St Margarets, Roganstown and many more.
Turn up at the Ladies Irish Open, collect your scratch card at the Golfhub stand and you've already made €18.
Jo Maes, Golfhub's European Director:" We will evaluate the system in a couple of weeks and see if we can roll this out in all our European destinations. It would be advantageous to the Irish and UK golfers to get a discount on green fees abroad. Our revamped golf pass application will cater for multiple course and discount bookings and we very much look forward to roll this out as well. Golfhub aims to give both the golfer as the golf club the best online marketing and distribution technology on the market and offer the golfer best value golf and the golf club increased revenue.
